How to choose the filtration material of dust collection air filter
Nov 08, 2025
Dust Characteristics
Particle Size and Density
For ultrafine dust (≤2.5μm), PTFE membrane filter cartridges are recommended, with a filtration accuracy of up to 0.3μm and an interception rate ≥99.9%. For ordinary dust (such as sawdust, cement), polyester fiber filter cartridges are suitable, with a filtration accuracy of 1-5μm. [1PM2.5]
Chemical Characteristics
For corrosive dust (such as acid mist), PTFE membrane or glass fiber substrates are required. For oily dust, oil and water resistant treatment is necessary.
Environmental Conditions
Temperature
Polyester fiber filter cartridges are resistant to temperatures ≤130℃, while PTFE membrane filter cartridges can withstand short-term high temperatures up to 260℃. For high-temperature environments (such as boiler flue gas), glass fiber substrates are recommended.
Humidity and Adhesion
For damp or sticky dust, filter cartridges with oil and water resistant coatings should be selected to prevent dust adhesion.
Filtration Efficiency and Lifespan
High-Efficiency Filtration
PTFE membrane filter cartridges achieve an initial efficiency of 99.99%, extend the cleaning cycle by over 50%, and have a 30% lower total lifespan cost compared to ordinary polyester filter cartridges.
Lifespan
PTFE filter cartridges last 3-5 years, polyester filter cartridges 1-2 years, and fiberglass-based cartridges have an even longer lifespan.
Special Needs
Explosion-Proof Scenarios
Flammable and explosive dust (such as metal powder) requires anti-static filter cartridges with a conductive coating.
Economy
PTFE membrane filter cartridges have a higher initial cost but a lower overall cost; polyester filter cartridges have lower initial costs but require more frequent maintenance.
