The Difference Between Sintered Filter and Ordinary Filter
Nov 29, 2025

Manufacturing process
►Sintered filter element: usually made of high-purity powder materials (such as titanium powder, stainless steel powder, copper powder, etc.), through screening, cold isostatic pressing, high-temperature sintering and other processes. This process makes the filter element have uniform pore size distribution and good structural stability.
►Ordinary filter element: may be made of a variety of materials such as non-woven fabrics, glass fiber, polypropylene, ceramics or activated carbon, and formed through different manufacturing processes. Although the diversity of its structure and material brings flexibility, it may not be as good as sintered filter element in terms of uniformity and consistency.
Filtration performance
►Sintered filter element: With its uniform structure and narrow pore size distribution, it can achieve efficient filtration effect. For example, the titanium rod sintered filter element has high porosity and low flow resistance, allowing the fluid to pass quickly, reducing pressure loss while maintaining excellent filtration capacity. Stainless steel sintered filter element has excellent filtration performance and can withstand high temperature, high pressure and corrosive media.
►Ordinary filter element: When the working environment temperature is high, when handling high-demand or complex fluids, and corrosive liquids, its filtration efficiency and separation effect are slightly inferior.
Durability and high temperature resistance
►Sintered filter element: Excellent performance, can withstand temperatures up to 280℃ or even 300℃, suitable for high temperature process environments. At the same time, its chemical stability is excellent, can effectively resist the erosion of various chemicals such as acids and alkalis, and has excellent antioxidant properties.
►Ordinary filter element: Relatively weak in high temperature resistance and chemical stability, easy to fail or damage under certain conditions.
Service life
►Sintered filter element: Stable structure, strong pressure resistance, and can be washed and reused, with a service life much longer than ordinary filter elements.
►Ordinary filter element: Short service life, non-reusable, easy to damage, high replacement frequency.
