Which is better, Stainless Steel Filter or Fiber Glass Filter?
Jul 09, 2025
The choice of stainless steel filter element and glass fiber filter element should be determined according to the specific usage scenario:
Corrosion resistance
--Stainless steel filter elements have strong corrosion resistance and can resist corrosion from weak acids, alkalis and salts. They are suitable for chemical and water treatment environments;
--Glass fiber filter elements are easily damaged in weak acid and alkali environments, but have outstanding high temperature resistance (up to 280°C).
Temperature range
--Stainless steel filter elements have a wide applicable temperature range (-50°C to 900°C) and are suitable for high temperature and high pressure scenarios;
--The conventional use temperature of glass fiber filter elements does not exceed 280°C, but the heat resistance can be improved after surface treatment.
Mechanical strength
--Stainless steel filter elements have high tensile strength and are suitable for high-pressure filtration (internal pressure breaking strength ≥2MPa) and can be repeatedly cleaned;
--Glass fiber filter elements are easy to deform and need to be reinforced to improve stability.
Filtration accuracy
--Stainless steel filter elements can achieve uniform filtration with an accuracy of 2-200μm and are suitable for more stringent industrial scenarios;
--Glass fiber filter elements have a good interception effect on particles above 5μm and are suitable for primary filtration.
Recommendation:
--If corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and reusability are required, stainless steel filter elements are preferred;
--If high temperature dust removal is emphasized and the budget is limited, glass fiber filter elements are more economical.
