How Oil Filtration Works

An oil filter element separates unwanted solid contaminants from oil as the fluid passes through the filter media. Contaminated oil enters the filtration area and flows through the yellow filter paper. Particles and impurities are retained by the filter media, while filtered oil continues through the supporting structure.

The performance of an oil filtration system depends on the complete filtration system rather than the filter element alone. Filter media selection, filtration rating, flow direction, oil viscosity, pressure difference and operating temperature can all affect filtration results.

Regular inspection of the filter element can also help identify excessive contamination or pressure increase. When the filter becomes heavily loaded with contaminants, filtration efficiency and oil flow conditions may be affected.

Custom Oil Filter Element

Not every filtration system uses the same filter dimensions or internal construction. For this reason, we provide custom oil filter element manufacturing according to customer requirements.

Customers can provide an existing sample, technical drawing, dimensions, photographs or equipment specifications. Based on the available information, the filter element can be produced with different dimensions, filter media, filtration ratings, end-cap configurations, support structures and sealing materials.

Customization is particularly useful when the required filter element has a non-standard size or when a filtration system requires a specific combination of filter media and mechanical support.
